About Me
Hi!
My name is Nickie Westlake. I live in the beautiful New Forest in Southern England with my husband and 4 children.
Photography has always been a part of my life ever since my grandfather left me his pride and joy, an old Pentax K100!
In the late nineties I started studying photography on a part-time basis at Bournemouth and Poole College. It took me about 3 years to gain my City and Guilds award. During this time I was invited to photograph Salisbury Carnival, which resulted in one of my images being used to promote and publicise the following year's Carnival. I have since gone on to achieve my 'Licentiate' of the Royal Photographic Society allowing me to use the initials 'L.R.P.S.' after my name. I have recently been awarded my Licentiate with the British Professional Photographers Association, allowing me to use LBPPA after my name too!! It's part of my ambition to constantly improve my photography, ensuring my clients get the very best from me!
Until now my main career, for the last 22 years, has been working in the Financial Sector, which has taught me how important Customer Service is! I believe in treating people how I would like to be treated. So you can feel confident participating in My 'Client Experience!'
My enthusiasm for photography just keeps on growing! I love a challenge! But my real passion is 'People' photography; having fun and connecting with you!
My style is relaxed and unintrusive. Although many of the poses are 'directed', I pride myself on capturing that magic moment, resulting in images that are personal to you. Particually at Weddings, I love to take the detail that the Bride has spent so long planning and preparing; for example, shoes, name place cards and all the little extras that make the day so personal to her and her husband-to-be!
Relax and enjoy yourselves - feel free to contact me to discuss your wishes and dreams - together, we'll make them happen!
Please feel free to leave any comments via the 'Contact Me' page. Your feedback is very important to me.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
